What is Early Orthodontic Treatment?
Orthodontic treatment (Braces) typically start around age 12 - 14 when all the baby teeth have fallen out, and the adult teeth are in their positions.
Some children develop severe cases if unnoticed, which will be difficult to treat and can complicate the braces treatment.
However, there are some conditions, if caught in an early age, will be easier to treat. After treatment, some children might not even need braces later on.
Other than alignment of teeth, we will look out for any bad oral habits and intervene it before they bring detrimental effects to adult teeth.
When is the suitable age to start children braces (early orthodontic treatment)?
The suitable age for most children to get children braces (early orthodontic treatment) is 8 - 10 years old. Hence, we would recommend bringing your child for a dental check-up from 8 - 10 years old to address early orthodontic problems.
